Present
A potpourri of text and song
celebrating works created
for the Stratford Festival.
Canada’s
finest composers and writers including:
Louis Applebaum, Berthold Carrière, Laura Burton,
Alan Laing, Loreena McKennitt, Harry Somers, Keith Thomas, Stephen Woodjetts, Michael
Ondaatje, Sharon Pollock, James Reaney, Larry Fineberg
Selections of new music
and image from 50 years of productions crafted for the Stratford Festival Stage.
This material is very
exciting, a collection of gems plucked from the Festival treasury. We are very
fortunate that in 1953, Tyrone Guthrie made newly composed music for each
production a part of the Festival’s mandate. Shakespeare’s words have been
set by many of Canada’s greats. Commissioning new plays and incidental music
for the varied repertoire performed here is another part of the Festival’s
gift to audiences."
